This thread is to generate a list of things in that reference the moon, or anything about the moon that is part of our culture (or any culture). If you happen to know a song, a movie that mentions the moon breifly, a joke, or anything else that is going to be good for promoting the concept of the moon.

Post what the content/item/song/etc is, but don't write anything other than a description and/or link. This is not a thread for posting space specific things, but more hard to find things that mention the subject where it may not be expected. Follow the example below!

The purpose of this post is to help with generating eye/ear catching concepts, that could help promote our cause. So if you remember something that caught your mind, then post it here with a short description.

Good stuff. We could always use clips of public domain material to add to a video clip explaining PERMANENT's goals.

An obvious reference is the monolith on the moon in "2001: A Space Odyssey":

A less obvious one is the British 70s show "Space: 1999" I watched religiously when I was a kid:

There's one ludicrous but cool scene in "Starship Troopers" of a lunar orbital defence ring that blows up an asteroid sent by the "bugs" on a collision course with Earth. (Can't find any screengrabs online, sorry.) There's also the destroyed moon in the lame remake of "The Time Machine".

Edit: sorry, Logan, missed the part about "more hard to find things that mention the subject where it may not be expected" (emphasis mine). I won't mention that classic 70s James Bond movie "Moonraker" recently released on BluRay then.
